The conference draws nigh. Here's a summary of the critical things you need to know.

 

Schedules

Schedule of Sessions is here. (please bear in mind that this is broadly correct but the final version is in the hard copy conference program distributed at the conference) 

Schedule of Social events:

Wednesday night, 7 pm - 9?: Registration and opening reception, McMaster University Student Centre main lobby. Cash bar and free light snacks. Optional: Congregating at the Phoenix pub on campus afterwards.

Thursday night: Reception at Dundurn Castle. Cash bar and a full menu of complimentary hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. Transportation to and from McMaster University provided. Buses will leave from the front of the Student Centre at 5:45 and 6:15 pm, and will return at 8:30 and 9:00 pm.

Friday lunch: Women's Lunch, 12 noon, McMaster Faculty Club. Please sign up at the registration desk. Prix fixe menu with a cost of $12.00, not incl. alcoholic beverages, taxes, gratuities. 

Friday night: On the town! No organized social events are planned for Friday night, although we suggest a number of activities and destinations on an insert in your registration package. There is, of course, the Phoenix.

Saturday lunch: Barbeque lunch. Saturday's lunch is provided free to all conference registrants. It will be an outdoor barbeque on the terrace off the 3rd floor of the Student Centre. Vegetarian items will be available.

Saturday evening: CAA Awards Banquet. Presentations of CAA Awards and a plate-served dinner. A very limited number of tickets will be available at the conference registration desk. 

Lab tours: Tour McMaster Anthropology's Palaeogenetics lab. Friday 12:30-1:30, Saturday 3:00 - 4:00. Please sign up at the registration desk.

The conference will be held in the McMaster University Student Centre, building 20a.  Accommodation check-in for those staying in a McMaster residence will be at the Commons Building, building 28. (If coming by taxi, ask to be dropped off at McKay Hall, and walk in behind it.) The campus pub, the Phoenix, is building 21. The Faculty Club is in Alumni Memorial Hall, building 8. 

 

Registering for the conference

The CAA Registration Desk will be in the McMaster University Student Centre, open Wednesday 7-9, and throughout the conference. Pick up your conference package there.

If you have not preregistered: On-site registration for the full three days is $85 regular, $55 student. 
One-day registration is $35.
